Over the course of 16 weeks, I worked with a team created to be an focused differentiation strategy consulting group to analyze Southwest Airlines. The goal was to locate sources of sustainable competitive advantage which Southwest Airlines may not be leveraging fully. After locating these sources, a plan was developed to help expand Southwest’s market share in commercial aviation, in order to avoid death and decline.
In the project, we provide a detailed SWOT Analysis, Financial Analysis, a detailed view of the market, and a major programmatic recommendation.
The programmatic recommendation was to create a primary research program that would better leverage Southwest’s impressive database asset, to meet the perceived needs of customers through strategic alliances.
